Does anyone else have children that stand on their heads? Not all of my children have but at least 5 of them have gone through a stage at around age 4-5 where they stand on their heads on the couch. Gaining a new perspective on the world? Just curious as to whether others have kiddos that do this.

My son did the head stand thing, but my daughter didn't. My son likes to be upside down for some reason; periodically I'll find him with his head on the floor, upside down with his back resting on the couch cushion, legs flopped all over the place, reading.

WOOOO! I thought it was just my all-boy 8yob! He's always rolling on his head and doing gymnastics on the floor -- especially during exciting parts of a family movie -- which means he gets yelled at by the others for being the way.

Seriously ... this is the one who also used to chew his fingers (and clothes), but seems to have stopped (thank goodness as his shirts would be SOAKED !)

All mine have done this at different ages. Actually, my teenage s lay upside down on the couch to do their hair. They say that it is the only way to get a perfect ponytail.

Well, 4-5 is the age when they begin (usually) and some of mine have only done it for a year or so and others continue on for years.

Well, my daughter likes to hang upside down on the chairs and tables, too, but usually she is just setting herself up to do a back flip. I don't know what possessed me to put her in a gymnastics class when she was 3. It's been non- stop flipping, tumbling, and head standing ever since. At least in class they teach her how to do it without injuring herself. Her little sister tries to do it, but just can't get it yet. We'll have to start her in class soon, too.
