Let's talk nativity sets. Our cheap one is broken beyond repair. We're looking for a new one.
What do you like or use?

I found this set 75% off at a Bible book store during Thanksgiving 8 years ago. The prices have gone up but they are unbreakable and the detail to beauty and art is magnificant. I am hoping to find more to add to our collection. Fontanini
Good Luck

Ditto on the Fontanini! I had a plan to give my son his own "Holy Family" one year and then another piece each year after that---but I couldn't help myself, and ended up getting a bunch of shepherds, the Magi, some animals... They are not cheap, but they are really beautiful. I particularly love my Blessed Mother...

I love the Fontanini -- they're beautiful, not fragile and you can add pieces as you go. For the littles to set up and really understand the whole Nativity, we got this Haba set -- which is basically impervious to damage and lets them rearrange to their hearts' content!
The Helping Hand has some GORGEOUS nativities and many are not too expensive ... but all are very unique. Helping Hand is the organization that helps the folks in developing countries sell their goods. So a worthy cause to boot!

This is the store belonging to friends of ours. They are somewhat expensive, but all high quality and not made in China if that is a consideration for you. They are quite beautiful!

I guess I'm just dreaming and wishing I could find a discounted source for Fontanini? Anyone? I only have the Holy Family and need to add on.
And how about patterns for stables to make your own? Anyone have suggestions?

I get Fontanini after christmas at our catholic stores. Some pieces are very discounted, others not so much or at all. Also have had good luck on ebay buying "lots" of them instead of one single piece.

Just an fyi for those that it is an issue, Fontanini (though they used to be made in Italy) is now made in China. Not judging those that like it, I just know that I was very suprised and disappointed when I learned it...

Check this one out. I haven't seen it, but I love their animals and horses that we have purchased at Target and Farm and Fleet.

I just ordered one from Schliech. I believe it was on sale for $20. PP's link from Kitestailstoys.com looks familiar.
