I fractured my ankle over the weekend. Surgery is scheduled for 12:30 on Thursday.
I don't know what I need more prayers for.. the surgery or being attached to my couch for the next six to eight weeks with my foot on a pillow.
I would be grateful for prayers.

Praying, Kristina! I can't imagine having to be off of a foot for a day, let alone weeks! BUT I know how important that recovery time is. My mom didn't follow it completely (couldn't because of school), and never healed as well as she might have. So please try to stay off of it! And we're praying.

Here is the update:
My surgery was cancelled and rescheduled for next Thursday 11-8.
I arrived today and was set up in pre-op and while waiting for the anesthesiologist, I was informed that the surgical staff was concerned with the sterility of the surgical tools. Forty patients had their surgery rescheduled so I was in good company. They weren't certain, so the hospital chose to err on the side of caution.
My surgeon was hoping to reschedule for the surgery in the next few days. Since I have to wait a week for the surgery, tomorrow morning I have to go to have a proper cast put on since the one I have now is considered a splint.
I am so grateful for all of your prayers.
Janette, thank you for the insight. I resolved early on that I will play by the rules. I am so blessed that my family and friends are so helpful, kind and charitable during this time. I blogged about the advantages of hanging out on the couch with my feet up.

I am heading to the hospital in a little bit. In my conversation with the day surgery nurse yesterday, she told me that these surgeries usually take an hour, but my surgeon is anticipating mine to take longer so he has scheduled it for 2 1/2 hours. During my office visit this week, the surgeon said that I likely have ligament damage as well and may require a second surgery in six months.
I am really shocked at all of the damage that was caused by one little "trip."
I would be so grateful for your prayers today. My surgery is at noon, but they are beginning the block and anesthesia an hour prior.
