Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Can anyone share any remedies they have tried that have worked. The doctors have offered things like punctual plugs, Restasis and dioxcycline. I am not eager to try any of that.
Thank you!

You mean just to help as used? Do you breastfeed? I think breastmilk would be excellent.. it's got the fats in it to replace those.. it actually can heal things like pink eye.. and would obviously add moisture.

My dh has what I'm thinking sounds similar to you. He has been plagued with this for a couple of years now. His docs kept telling him it must be some sort of allergy. But antibiotics don't work and either do antihistamines.

Anyways...the closest thing that does any good (I think he suffers very quietly, so I don't always know how he is feeling - I know it's bad when I can literally at night tell he is awake because I can hear his blink...hear the eyelid scrape down over his dry eye...ick!) is Zaditor. It use to be a prescription eyedrop, but now is over the counter. He also at times does warm compresses on his eyes and lets the shower "rain down" on his face so to speak for a bit of time as well.

Marilyn, I've had punctal plugs and loved them. I only had lower ones, and they worked well. I would start with them since they aren't chemical. (As an aside, check to see if your insurance cover the expense. I remember that for something so small they cost a lot.)

You blink less when at the computer and when reading so try to remember to blink more or do those activities less. I love the thicker preservative free drops from Allergan. They're called Celluvisc They are supposedly single use, but the solution is good for 24 hours if you don't touch the tip to anything. The doctor I worked for had patients just lay the container down carefully so they could get a second application out of them when they wanted.

I hope your hormones go back to normal soon. In my early pregnancy, I feel it most in my eyes.
