Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Can anyone recommend a good devotional book for couples? Something like Our Daily Bread but specifically designed for a married couple to explore together? I bought a devotional book at our local Catholic book store without really looking closely at the entries and Im finding many of them to just not jive with our spirituality...it seems many of the themes seem more congruent with certain protestant teachings.

I guess I shouldnt have assumed that because it was a Catholic bookstore it would congruent with catholicism, or our world view, for that matter.

So, any suggestions would be appreciated...I hate to count that money spent as wasted, but I get really bummed when we go to have our devotional time and the theme du jour is something completely dischordant with what we believe.

I haven't read it yet, but you might look into Kimberly Hahn's Chosen & Cherished, which is a bible study on Proverbs. It is supposed to be the start of a series.

Thank you for asking the question, Heather. DH and I wanted to do a Bible study together, but I had no idea what to do. I never thought of a devotional book for couples    .

Just thinking out loud...I wonder if Chosen and Cherished is the new book Scott and Kimberly were recently discussing on EWTN? Either way, I don't think I can go wrong buying one of their books. Thanks for posting about it, Kelly.
