Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am hosting the next Little Flowers meeting and I'm stumped when it comes to a craft to go along with the virtue. Our virtue for next month is Initiative. The saint is St. Margaret of Scotland. I first thought of having each girl decorate an apron for a craft (as a reminder to take the initiative and help out around the house, but this is unrealistic due to cost (there are 13 girls in our Little Flowers). I also thought of each girl making an Advent Calender to hang up in their room. Each day would have a sacrifice for them to do. Any other ideas would be most welcome for this non-creative mother!

Tricia,

I don't know if you realize there is a yahoo group for Little flowers leaders. There are lots of craft ideas there.

Tricia,
Just a couple of thoughts - would it be cost prohibitive to make the aprons if you had each girl bring thier own to the meeting?
If so, along the lines of your Advent calendar - how about decorating a box or jar which would hold slips of paper with household chores on them. They could choose a paper each day and do an extra chore to help out around the house willingly and joyfully. They could put the paper back in the container after they were done and then they reuse it during any season of the year.
I don't have my Little Flowers books as I have lent them out so I can't be much help beyond that.
HTH
