Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Has anyone got any of these? I've seen a recommendation (at Alice's blog, ages ago) for 'Sixty Saints for Girls', but it seems that this author wrote several other books too. Any views?

Oh my, Elizabeth, these are such fun books. She wrote a plethora of titles, and it seems that you should be able to find plenty with ease, since they were originally printed by Sheed and Ward in London.

To get a flavor of her writing, here's the story of St. Barbara.

The most complete collection is a large 3 volume set called Story Library of the Saints I think printed in the 70s. It takes some searching but it's worth it. I think the 60 Saints series tried to include many of her stories from other volumes, and then Christian Classics reprinted these in the late 80s.

I don't think any of the titles are in print, so they do require some searching and bargaining. But I read these as a young girl and still enjoy them.

Some of the titles:

Sixty Saints for Boys
Sixty Saints for Girls
Heaven on Earth. Adapted from the French...
Here Are Your Saints
Six O'Clock Saints
More Saints for Six O'Clock
More Six O'Clock Saints
New Six O'Clock Saints
Saints By Request
Saints Specially for Boys
Saints Upon a Time
Saints Who Spoke English
Saints You Have Asked for
