Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

If so, what do you call it? Does the blog site you use allow different people to post? My cousins and I want to start a family blog, but using the family name doesn't work since we are from two lines. Any suggestions about running such a blog are more than welcome.

We don't use a blog but we have been using Yahoo Groups for a few years now. It's worked out great for us.

We can upload pictures into the files section or send them through email. If you are not familar with Yahoo Groups, one email goes to everyone signed up. It's been a lot of fun reminiscing about the things we did as kids and getting to know my aunts, uncles and cousins better.

I don't have a family blog, but Blogger (which is free)does allow group blogs. There is an administrator and then whomever the administrator allows to be a writer for the blog. I have seen blogs with more than fifteen contributors, so you definitely could do that with your family. An option that Blogger now offers is to only permit certain people to view your blog. So you could allow all your familiy members to see it, but you wouldn't have to worry about strangers stalking your family.

As for name, you could use that last name of your common ancestor. So if you have the same grandfather and his last name was Jones, you could call it the Jones Family Blog because everyone still is part of the Jones family even if they don't have Jones as a last name. Or you could pick some non-family blog title like Our Family at Our Fingertips (I'm just using this as an example) and say in the subtitle "Keeping in touch with the Jones, Smith, and Brown cousins."

Hope that helps.

Or you could use a portmanteau -- e.g., Josmown for Jones, Smith and Brown, or something more clever-sounding than that....

Oh, and Wordpress has a group-blog option also.
