Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi all,
I haven't posted here before as I haven't had a teenager. I'm now to have one overnight, how's that for fast

My fifteen year old brother is coming to live with us and I have no preparation. (I will be homeschooling him)Obviously I expect that I would allow him to do different things to what my twelve year old does.

For example he has had rather alot of freedom in roaming the streets. I don't wish to have that situation here. How much allowance does a 15yr old have in this area. We live in town, a fairly save place, although I guess I never get complacent.

So if I tell him he is to stay at home I need to occupy him with some constructive outlets. Any suggestions? He doesn't read and is not into computers.

Probably lots of things for us to learn. Don't know if I'm making much sense at present I'm still all in shock.

Do you have a homeschooling teen group in your area? Our Catholic support group has a teen group which my kids have enjoyed very much.

What interests does your brother have? Surely there is something he is interested in, but since I don't know him I would have no idea what to suggest. My kids have enjoyed community sports, Scouts, gardening, biking, running, pen pals, board games, cooking, playing an instrument, and building things, to name a few. Find out what his interests are, and pray for a way to provide opportunities for him.

God bless,

Patty
