Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My husband and I are finally going to take the plunge on these 2 items. I need help, though! Can you tell me what you have, what you like and don't like about it?

Is there any way to save any money on these purchases? I haven't found many deals or cheaper prices on these?

I've been making bread with freshly ground wheat (that my SIL grinds for me) for about 6 months now, I guess. I wanted to try it before I bought everything...to make sure I'd stick with it.

Now I'm wanting the mixer to do bigger batches of dough at one time, and to learn to do pizza crust, rolls, etc and other things.

THANKS for your input!
Candace

Have you checked out Breadbeckers? They have a cookbook for about $6.00 that I find very helpful.

I have a Nutrimill, old Kitchenaid and a Zo bread machine. I usually do the dough in the bread machine and bake in the oven.

The Kitchenaid works well for our family of 5. I can usually make two pizza crusts (haven't actually done it in a while using it.

I don't know that there is anyway to save money on purchasing them. Breadbeckers may have a co-op that delivers to your area. I am not sure if there is any discount if you order your grinder through the co-op. You might avoid shipping costs. Definitely use that for ordering your grain. One time I went to order and the shipping was going to cost more than the grain .

No time to post long right now, but we love our Nutrimill Grain Mill and DLX mixer. I believe I got both from EverythingKitchens.com, the DLX at a discount because they didn't have the color I wanted and they give me the more expensive one instead. I didn't buy both at the same time because they are not cheap, but in the 4+ years I've had them I can say they're worth every single penny. Even with allergies and decreased use (don't make bread and pizza as often as I used to) they still are a joy every single time. I got lots of advice from the group mixer-owners at yahoogroups. There are at least 3 dealers there too so you can ask questions.

I too have the Nutrimill...and use it at least every other day for the past 10 months...it's been great. I use a 2lb bread machine to do my bread. I go through Breadbeckers for the grain. My dh bought my mill just by searching online...but I'm pretty sure that the price is the same everywhere you look. I'm such a routine gal though that I've never branched out from just making loaves of our everyday bread, and sometimes pancakes. I have a Kitchenaid, had it for 2 years and never ever have I used it. My mom gave it to me as a Christmas present when I was on bedrest, and I've never figured it out since...pathetic, I know . So I need to figure out how I can use that in the bread-making/dough-making adventure....

Bosch. It kneads up to 6 full size loaves of bread for me. It also has a mixer attachment so it is my regular mixer too. Also a food processor and blender, but I don't know if those are still sent along with it. I also have a wheat grinder but I bought it decades ago and I don't think the co. is still around. It sounds like I have jet engines in the kitchen when I use it
