I am often in the position where I want to make the very best tasting things for our family meals to make it special and thoughtful, but as I look around for things, I often find that I have to invent something because a key ingredient is missing...anyone ever been there?

I remember a show on TV (when we had cable) where they showed up on someone's doorstep and made them a gourmet meal based upon what they had in their fridge and freezer....I feel like I am doing that all the time and wanted to know what you would do in a similar situation. I posted a foodie challenge on my new blog. Would you drop me a line there with some ideas??

I have invented some great tasty soups in the past month or so that I never would have come up with if I actually had time to go to the store first. Since they tend to come out pretty well, I thought I should probably share them on occasion.
