Dear Amy

I am praying for you. I have recently had it twice at 6 weeks pospartum and 9 weeks postpartum. Horrid horrid horrid. Please rest. I found that drinking lots of water, taking Vitamin C, staying in bed and nursing constantly were the best things. I did take antibiotics too.

I know how rotten you can feel w/ mastitis! I've had it several times--always when I try to do too much postpartum!   

Rest, rest, rest, rest, nurse lots, and put warm, moist compresses on your affected breast (a rice sock is great!)
