Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

just wondering if anyone out there has (or knows about) nature blogs by families living in urban areas. i have decided that the mantra i return to when i feel like we arent doing enough nature stuff is "im doing as best as i can"    we have a small park we frequent, and a beautiful cemetery close by, but other nature areas would entail a whole day to go and come back. i am hoping some other moms experiences will inspire me. :)

I just know there is one from someone living in NY......but I am not sure who it is as I do not frequent blogs much. anyone know?

Of course, MacBeth recently started a blog...........who has the link?

oh, Dawn has a nature blog, and she just lives right outside of Boston.

Sorry I do not have links, but they should be easy to find.

Let us know what you come up with.

I have one... but we're more suburban than Urban. I have some links to other nature journal/garden blogs there, but have not updated these in a while.

Here is a good past thread:
Is nature study just not for me?
and
What to do when there isn't much nature

We live in Seattle, although you'd never be able to tell from the pictures of our yard....very wooded, etc. But, that's Seattle. There are some posts under the Outside Fun catagory of our blog. We never go more than 10 minutes for our days-out. Parks nearby, the beach, etc. My kids are younger...6 and under.

Also, we received The Kids Nature Book from one of my husband's former mountain climbing buddies and nature lover.....I use it all the time. Good ideas, activities and things to talk about.

Reading Pocketful of Pinecones was inspiring to me. And, pulling out books like
Keeping a Nature Journal and Create your own artist's journal, even if I don't draw a lot.

Sometimes I'll get one of these books from this great list from the library. Simply to remember and realize all of the things that are surrounding us in everyday life. I love these books.
HTH,
