Can someone ease my fears, please? Ever since you all expressed concern about who had been viewing your blogs, I have monitored mine. I never had many issues until recently. Someone searched and found my boy's picture and it looks as though they captured it (for an illegal alien ID?). The site says: images.google.de/imgres
And here's something else (can anyone translate?):

Well I don't have a blog and really don't know much about having one...but I googled German translation and found a free translator site and plugged in what you wrote...here is what it means in English...because I don't have a blog it doesn't mean anything to me in English...but it might to you! Here is a rough translation. (College German plus help from Babel Fish)
Indicate picture in original size. (The numbers appear to be pixel dimensions and memory size for the photo.)
This picture is possibly represented smaller and copyright protected. Remove frameworks. See the picture below in original condition at (URL).
You might consider entering the phrase beginnng with "Unten" and your whole URL from that day's post at www.copyscape.com to see what you get. Copyscape is a free web service for writers who are trying to find out if anyone has stolen their work. You can paste in any phrase you've written and Copyscape will search for websites that have duplicated it exactly.
I know it's unnerving. If you do find a site with the photo published, you'll need to write to the site's owner and his ISP to get the photo taken off. (I can help you do that...there's a thing called the Millenium Digital Media Act or something like that that allows you to write cease & desist letters to ISP's that host sites with stolen content.)

I'm wondering why you think someone captured the picture? The information you have (from sitemeter?) just says that someone clicked on one of your pictures. It could be that your picture matched the search terms, someone saw it in the search results and clicked on it. It could be that the picture wasn't what they were looking for and they moved on.

Ummm...this is the Google images search robot/web crawler thingy for Germany. If you plug in your blog's title into Google (.com, or .de, or probably any other extension), it will come up, as will any file that is associated with it. Not sure if there's anything you can do about keeping search engines from finding your blog and associated content. Typepad might be able to answer that for you in their FAQs/help page. If it bugs you, the short term thing would be not to post any photos of your family on the blog and remove what you already have there.

Right. It looks to me as if someone did a google image search and the picture popped up. Can you find out what the search terms were? That would be more helpful.
What tracking service are you using? If it is technorati you can click on the link and it should show the search term in the google toolbar.
Could be someone was just searching using a term that happened to be on the page your son's picture was on.

This can also happen if someone clicked on the picture to enlarge it. If you have any concerns, I recommend adding sitemeter to your blog- it tells you how people came there (through links or searches) and what they were looking for.

It appears that no one copied his picture for online purposes. I know I'm really naive about this whole blog/web thing. One of the things that bugs me is people stealing children or stealing their identities. It's so creepy.
Anyway, it was repeated four times within four minutes last night and then again this morning. It always finds the same post. That's a little disconcerting.

On my blog, before I published the address anywhere, I took off all the pictures of my kids where you could see more than their hands or an indistinct profile. (It actually meant deleting a number of posts, as well.) I did this mainly for two reasons:
1. Bad guys like pictures of little kids. Enough said.
2. My brother is a computer expert, and he won't even send pictures of his kids to our family by email.
Now, that doesn't mean that "bad guys" are looking at your child's picture, of course. They're probably not. But if you post your pictures online, the possibility really does exist, and once they take your kids' pictures, they can do with them what they will. I just decided that I can't even condone that remote possibility.
It was a hard decision. My kids are just plain adorable (of course!), and I like to be told so!! 
Anyway, that's my take on the subject. Good luck dealing with this! It's certainly worth a prayer or two...

We need remember predators are in every community including all and I mean all online communities including homeschool ones just as in our world around us they are everywhere .They are his uncle, my dentist , your lawyer etc. all educational backgrounds , classes , religions . absolutely all communities .
So yes we have to beleive we can protect our children as best we can .Predators make thier choices . We cannot control what they are going to do . We can just choose how we can best protect our children . when we take our children out in public and as well by posting pictures online etc. we need to be very cautious and discern very well .Prudence is a must .
However we cannot stop living , loving being who we are created to be . I will not hide our children but I will protect them .
Will creeps visit our blogs , be in our homeschool communities of course .It is a given .
The best ways to deal with evil is ignore it but when it attacks confront it right in the face . stop it .
when we can't handle it ourselves there are people who can help such as councel , riests , police , internet watch programs etc.
Basically yes it comes down to we need to protect our children & you are never never ,I repeat being over protective by being prudent & cautious .
I know many people do not like to read or learn about predators etc. I respect that . I will ask people if they wish to know more etc. I am always happy to share our info with them .
My friend Mary & I are writing a general info paper for parents & caregivers , those working with children as well as to help victims . We are still in shock at how little info the general public has on predators of children and the assumptions that still are out there regarding these issues still boogle our minds .
Your kids are safe they are with you again we cannot control what these people will do . Just be cautious not parinoid that is what they want a person in desperation . That is when satan / evil waits for it . when a parent is distracted is the best time to hurt a child . My good friends child was molested in thier church just when her dh was diagnosed with cancer . predators look for weak distracted people . I am also going to post more again about predators general facts etc. on our blog .
It is a hard truth this is epidemic in our world now it can only be stopped if people stop fearing the existence of this evil . It will have to be delt with eventually . I am hopeful anyway
