Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My dc just *love* the Greek Myths. Last year we read the Orchard Book of First Greek Myths and also the Orchard Book of Greek Myths. They were totally absorbed, and still talk animatedly about them.

I *could* go back and read the same thing all over again, but I'd quite like a change. Any suggestions? D'Aulaire's version seems to get rave reviews from some, but I'm not sure if my gang (7, 5 and 3) would find it too hard. Is there anything else that anyone can recommend?

Elizabeth -- hands-down D'Aulaire's Book of Greek Myths the stories are nicely written and the illustrations keep them very interested! I've read D'aulaire's to mine since Thomas was 3 or 4 and now that JP is 4, I'll do it with him too!

I second the d'Aulaire book! My kids asked for that book first thing, every single day, during the time that we were reading it (last fall). My 6yod actually cried the day we finished "Gweek Miffs".

My 9yos just asked me last weekend if we were going to read it again- so I guess we are

Another option is Classic Myths to Read Aloud. Does not have pictures, but very well written. It also has some etymologies-- when you're there!

I am sure that the D'Aulaires will not be too hard for 7 and 5. And its cleaned up a good bit too!

Elizabeth, we also like the Usborne book. It's nicely illustrated as well.
