Dear Friends,

I have a prayer request.

My youngest sister, Megan (20), needs some prayers right now. Last week she found out that her boyfriend, Andrew, will be serving in Iraq for a year of duty starting in March. Andrew is a sophomore at the Univeristy of Steubenville in the Marine Reserves. He and Megan have been dating since high school. Because of these new orders, he has had to drop out of school. He is in training now at Quantico and leaving this Tuesday for training in South Carolina. He'll be down there for a month, comes home for 6 days and leaves for California. He'll be out there from the beginning of Nov until March. Then he'll get 6 days of leave and then ships out to Iraq. Needless to say, this is very tough for both of them.

War has always been one of those things that I prayed for an end to. I pray for the soldiers and the families affected by it, making sacrifices for me. I have friends in the military. I have prayed for them.   But I have never been personally "touched" by it. I know that I have been very lucky.   Like so many other things in life, that has changed completely. We are now one of "those families." It scares me to even think about it, but it is reality.

Please keep Andrew and Megan in your prayers. It means a lot to me.
