Can anyone give advice on these or these shoes from LLBean? Comfortable? Heavy? Took a lot to get used to?

I'm having a very hard time with these.

Thanks!

Couldn't love the All Day Closed back Comfort Clogs more if I tried!!! Incredibly comfortable. They did take a little bit of time to get used to the weight of them. But I'm even wearing them in Florida now - never thought they would translate from VA to FL, but they have nicely.

While I don't have the Born slip ons, I do have the Riba slides. They are fabulous now. However, I wore them to the 4 Real Conference, and was in some serious pain after wearing them for a full day the first time I wore them. Now they are great.

I just got my second pair of open-backed comfort clogs and I love them. I don't think they are heavy at all compared to clogs I wore years ago (wooden). I highly recommend them! Very comfortable!

Lisa -

Borns are nice too. VERY different feel. Softer, absolutely NO rocking, so you’re “on your own”. Borns are very masculine to me, whereas Danskos have a bit more style, even though they are still clunky, they just feel and look more feminine to me. But, I do like them, have them, wear them.

I would imagine that the clogs at LLBean are going to have similar “issues” that you’re not liking with the Danskos. If you’re set on getting used to a clog, I would go with a Dansko….people swear by them. The quality is far superior.

If you're not crazy about the professional dansko clogs, what about trying the other lines?
Chelsea
Golden Gate I have these . Mainly because my orthotics fit well in them. (Stpaled clogs don't have a removable inset, so i've never had them). They have the same "rocking effect" as the clogs, but are a bit softer and not as dramatic a transition as the clogs. There are lots of different syles.

I do have clog-style sandals for summer time. One thing that I don’t like about them is that they are high. You can’t be super active in them, so I tend not to wear them around the house for everyday where leaping often happens around here! But, not everyone feels that way, and I’m probably just really clumsy!

Have you used Zappos before? It’s SO EASY and NO COST to you, to try anything you want! Easy too (as long as you have a UPS drop nearby).

I have a pair of Danskos and find them heavy, but I do like them.
My favorite clogs are from Keen, check our their website.
I will not go beyond the first webpage, nor will I do any ebay searching, a least tonight.
(FYI- started with Keen water shoe/sandals after had trouble with Berks and Tevas. Keens have a bit of a heel which really helps my back)

How are all these different brands in terms of arch support? I have been having a heck of a time with heel pain (suspect plantar fasciitis) since wearing a cheap pair of ked-like tennis shoes for most of the summer. I'm thinking I need to invest in a good pair of shoes.

I've worn open back Comfort Clogs for two winters so far. Very comfortable. If they are heavier than other shoes I own I don't notice.

Lisa, I just ordered the Bright Avocado (I LOVE! green) closed back and I wore them all day on Sunday with no problems. I wore them barefoot as I have a high arch and the shoes fit nicely but need to stretch a bit for me to wear with sox ... but I love that that the heel fits but is not tight against the heel. VERY comfortable!

Regarding the LLBean clogs (closed back)....does anyone who has worn them have a narrow heel? All this talk of them being roomy in the heel gives me visions of having them slipping off constantly. Any thoughts?

I have a narrow heel and the LL Beans were wayyy too big on me. I ended up with a pair of narrow Danskos over the winter and I'm just now really starting to love them. I'm so used to wearing tennis shoes that its been quite an adjustment.

Okay, so I just ordered the LL Bean All Day Comfort Clogs. I'm not returning the Dansko's just yet so I can compare. I'll let you know what I discover as soon as they're here!

Thanks for the help!

I've got what I term "fred flinstone feet" so for me they're great!
