Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I have been trying to discern the issue of copying art masterworks from books. I don't know why it even came to me. I know I have copied many times from books on an assortment of things. But it did, so.....the publisher of the book I was using states on their website they don't own the copyright to the painting, but I was able to get permission from the museum to copy the painting. That's good. But is it necessary to contact every owner of a painting I want to copy. Now I see that many of these same works of art are available free on-line or even at this website in the art archive. How do you all go about finding good quality copies for your art notebooks.

Last year I had my dd narrate the paintings from memory and then by looking at them. I realize this year even I can't really remember what the paintings were exactly, so I would like to have a copy for each masterpiece she studies for her notebook.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Valerie
