Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

It's my dd's 7th birthday party on Sunday. We usually do crafty things rather than party games because of a mixed age group, but this year it's going to be almost all 6-8 yo girls. (Quite a small group, 10 or 12 in total.)

As usual I'm leaving the planning to the last minute -- we'll definitely do pass the parcel, a treasure hunt and a game called 'poor doggy'. What other games have you found to be a hit?

TIA!

ETA: The party is at home. We've got a reasonable sized space downstairs (but it's carpeted) and quite a big garden (but British weather is always unpredictable) so anything too violent or messy is out!

I assume "Pass the parcel" is like "hot potato" where everyone passes an object around in a circle until the moderator says to stop and then the person holding it is out. Also we played musical chairs and pin the tail on the donkey. A lot of birthday parties have a pinata, but you probably should forgo that since it is best done outside. When I turned seven I had a dress up party and we all had fun just oohing and ahing over each other's costumes and playing pretend based on what we were wearing.

Elizabeth, you could add a slip of paper with a forfeit to each layer of the pass-the-parcel. It makes it last longer, and my dds and their friends both enjoy this.

Trying to think of other games ... I should know loads, but my brain has addled .

Thanks! I like it!

I've found a great website with suggestions -- will report back as to successes...
