All you dear ladies, please pray for our family as we go to the hospital this evening. Baby #2 is a week overdue and the doctors fear he or she is already bigger than ds2, who was 10 pounds at birth. We have an induction in a couple hours.
I'm at peace with it but am very anxious about ds, who has never been away from dh and me. My parents have been with us for more than a week, so ds has had lots of time to get good and comfortable with them, but it's still hard for me to leave my little guy. Please pray for him too, that he can be calm and brave.

Thought you would all want to know, Thomas Anthony arrived safely and everyone is doing well! He arrived at 8:30 in the am, 10 lbs., looking healthy and pink!
There weren't any more details in the email from her dh than that, but I'm sure we'll hear more when things are back to "normal!"

Thank you, everyone, so much! We're home and tired but well. Thomas was actually 10 pounds 12 ounces... ouch. (The "Thomas the Tank Engine" jokes are starting already.) Back labor, epidural didn't take, and there was a bit of excitement at the very end when his shoulders got stuck and he started turning blue -- nurses shoving dh out of the way, jumping on the bed and pushing hard on my abdomen, and everyone shouting "PUSH!" -- but thank God, all's well that ends well.
John did remarkably well. After seeing that Thomas and I were both all right, dh went home to be with John and my dad, and my mom stayed overnight with me. Dh said he was a bit clingy but otherwise was a real little trooper.
Thank you again for your prayers. You don't know how much I appreciate them. God bless you.
