Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Nature drawing - seriously. We have taken our nature books with us and, when having a break from the water etc, have drawn what we have found....

Practice writing letters in the sand. Count waves as they crash on the shore. Try to fill a shoe box with treasures beginning with each letter of the alphabet. Write postcards to grandparents. Make sand art pictures. Put shells on construction paper in the sun and make sun prints. Make a no TV rule and read instead the evenings. Listen to books on tape on the ride. Listen to the same classical symphony each evening and pick out which elements you can recognize. Have the kids narrate the days activities and illustrate the pages, then share it with family or friends when you return. Cook together. Go to a souvenir shop and let the kids each spend $5...tell them they have to purchase more than one thing. Help them add as they shop. Call me if you want me to keep going!

Well God is Good.
Not only did we have beautiful weather, not only were we blessed with a babysitter we were also blessed with so much marine life. It was amazing. We were in Orange Beach Alabama and we saw dophins like crazy 2 jump completely out of the water like in the movies
Sting rays were swiming all around us--Our oldest was thrilled about that At one point there were 50 stingrays swiming right in front where we were hanging out on the beach. Sand crabs that we hunted at night. And last of the marine life were jelly fish galore!!! You would think this was a bad thing but all of the kids would catch them with nets and burythem in the sand. They had THE most fun messing with those jelly fish. Praise God only one major sting but vingar and meat tenderizer took care of it .
It was refreshing and science all in one!!!!!!
Thank you Colleen for the wonderful ideas
