Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

A friend of mine sent me a link to this blog post: Arachnophobia? Texas is not for wimps.

This poor woman discovered an infestation of daddy long legs in her home, and took some amazing video. (Disclaimer: I only watched the first clip. That was enough for me. )

It is creepy, yet fascinating - bearing in mind that these particular spiders are harmless - RIGHT?

We had so many spiders in our yard last summer (big orb weavers) but hardly any it seems this year. (Except of course for that fisher spider who hatched a bajillion eggs under our deck table. )

I'm not really a spider fan, but I am coming around to their place in the ecosystem. Theresa has taught me a lot.

More spider stuff.

It is only about 2 hours away from us. If I could convince my daughter to go, we might consider it.

Absolutely fascinating, all this spider stuff. Of course, if I were a first hand witness to the daddy long legs "hairballs" or this immense web, I'd be totally freaked out!

Although, like Dawn, I am coming around to respecting the role spiders play...but at a distance. If I remember to take the camera with me when we go to fill the birdfeeders, I'll take a photo of the spider living under the deck. Not sure what kind it is, but it's a decent size.
