Buzz is an amazing insect book.
I love finding a new treasure at the library unexpectedly. Wasn't looking for insect books but they had this one on the display shelf and it looked intriguing. It's a newly published DK book. I love how they format books, very eye-catching and appealing to readers. Has three sound disks imbedded in the front cover that when pushed sound like insects (bee, cricket, mosquito) - fun right from the start. It covers a variety of arthropods (not just insects) and helps you to tell the differences between them. It's a combination of resources - part I spy and visual discrimination games(camouflage, spot the difference, match baby with adult), game book (card and board samples), AMAZING fun facts/trivia (medical uses, strength and jumping ability comparisons to humans, weird homes, top insect pets, chemical warfare), science, history (silk worms, red dyes, Austria & dung beetles), recipes (all about edible insects), insect related jobs, insect inspired things. FYI, some evolution references at very beginning when it discusses where insects came from.
I really can't do it justice. It is just a very fun book. Sure to keep budding entomologist totally engaged!

Sounds like one I need to check out -- for my littles ... I'm definitely not an entomologist but I TRY
Thanks MaryM for the review ... I too love most of the books that DK puts out!
