Darn - we are going to be in San Fran the weekend before that and would love to visit some of those museums for free. Here in our neck of the woods there are only two participating museums and one of them is always free!    The bulk of our museums here are part of a Cultural Facility District which receives some tax dollars so they offer free days to state residents about once a month already.

But thanks for the heads up, Dawn. It is a neat event.

Speaking of Smithsonian Museums. They have some great traveling exhibits which are often on display at Smithsonian affiliates around the country. It's alwyas worth checking if there is anything current in your area.

Thanks for posting this!

We'll be going to the Wildlife Museum in Jackson (the only one participating in WY). I've been with the kids, but dh has not. And we'll bring a bunch of students and faculty from the college, too.

I'm very happy about this outing!
