Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I found some 2"x3" pieces of wood at Hobby Lobby to make color tablets with. (per the suggestions in the Hainstock preschool book.) I bought them and then went to Wal-Mart to find paint samples (also per the Hainstock book). Now, the samples, after cutting out each square, are significantly smaller than the boards I bought. I don't mind going through the trouble of pasting them on the boards (well...I might mind after I actually get started ) but my concern was that the extra 1/2 in. or so of wood on each side of the sample would complicate the process when trying to order the different shades of the same color. KWIM?

Has anyone actually used paint sample cards for this activity? If so, how?? TIA.

Well, the real color tablets also have a border on them on 2 sides, so maybe it wont make a bit of difference. You could try making one set and ask dc to work on ordering them and see how it goes before you make the whole boxful.

I have paint samples - but I am just using those without gluing them on to anything. They were a good size.

Dawn,

When I did the color tablets a few years back, I used the paint sample cards that were a bit larger than most companies. I'm drawing a blank on the paint company though. Like Louise, I just cut them apart and laminated them without putting them on to wood. That worked out fine for us.
