We have now been told that the little girl we were told about has had the legalities completed so that she can be placed for adoption. We have read her file and seen her photo and we loved her even more now that we can imagine her. We meet her social worker this coming Friday and our social worker plans to go and video her for us too.
This whole process has been an enormous answer to prayer. All the way through, I would lay the "desire of my heart prayer" before the Lord and tell myself it was a silly dream - in the UK, a baby girl would be a miracle. And of course, God does work miracles! How could I forget. Right now our little one is 4 months old, and it will take about two months to get her home if things go smoothly.
PLEASE PLEASE pray that the Lord would be even more gracious and bring our baby home sooner. I am, in my heart, her mama already and it is physically painful to see her sweet gurgling face in the photo and know I can't press her to my heart, kiss her sweet cheeks and breathe in her lovely smell for two more months.
The only good thing is that my son is being very charitable to me. I tell him that my heart is telling me I have two babies to cuddle and only one baby in my home to cuddle, so he is letting me kiss him and cuddle him all I want! Very long suffering of him!
