Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am so excited! I signed up for the paperbackswap.com site that I've heard several people recommend (including Karen in the Montessori class).

Well, today I got an e-mail that a book on my wish list was available- it was Montessori in the home: the school years. I am so happy- I had been trying to track down a used copy...now I am getting a free one! God does provide.

That's wonderful, Melinda!    I bought a copy of this, and should have checked paperback swap instead. There's a couple of more titles I'd like to have, so I may sign up over there and put them on a wish list.

The first Montessori book I ever read (or found) was The Discovery of the Child. I found it at a thrift store (of course ) for 25 cents! It's been worth every penny too!

Isn't that site fantastic? I've found quite a few titles I've wanted for ages and in only a week, I've sent off 17 of my own books!

I did notice with amusement that I'm 82nd of 86 people wish listing Anna Botsford Comstock's Handbook of Nature Study. 'May have to just give in and order that one off Amazon! It's a handy feature being able to see where you are in the queue.

I finally bought a used copy of the handbook for about $20... I haven't used it all that much, honestly, since it's kind of big to tote around outside, and the pictures are in black and white. But I am going to try to make an effort to leave it out on a table this fall. It's a handy reference.

OK, I have looked and looked for this book.
The most affordable versions I can find are the ones from 1971, since all the others up getting up to $60 and more now (ridiculous).
Anyway, I want to know if there are any significant differences in the older versions than in the Plume version? Does anyone know?
