Have ya'll seen these? I saw a set of Presidents the other day, and these look interesting. I really like the trees and butterflies set.
Does anyone have these? Any comments?

We have the presidents and the states. They look pretty cool but have not really used them much yet.

We have the presidents and the states too. Those two were the backbone of one of the most successful projects of our schooling career. Marianna traced the head of the president onto half-lined paper and then wrote a blurb about him on the lower half. Easy to do, and the small booklet fan was a plus on this crowded boat vs. toppling stacks of presidential books.
Amazon has a nice listing of other titles, is there a specific weebsite (with cool extras and activities! ) for the Fandex's that anyone knows about?

We have the Painters. Got it for $3 at a Scholastic Warehouse sale. Really like it. Would love more so I'm going to keep checking the sales!

Meredith, that has been my problem and why I haven't bought the nature oriented ones. I don't think they cover sub-tropical hotspots!
Mary, thanks for tracking that site down, sometimes there is a goldmine of info available!

That is why I would tend to steer away from the field guide type ones. For field guides I always buy specifically local ones to cover our particular flora and fauna. Now the general ones tend to be more eastern oriented so if you live in the east (or even midwest) you will find more that are common to the area than we will for western species.

Yeah, now I know, but they are great for the Zoo during the summer months when they do their Butterfly Exhibit We of course keep hoping for a stray migrant to pop up somewhere in the field
