Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hey! I was just posting a reminder on the
happyisthehusband list.........and I thought I would extend an invitation to all of you to join us.

Here is info about the novena:

The "54-day Rosary Novena" is an uninterrupted series of Rosaries in honor of
Our Lady, revealed to the incurably sick Fortuna Agrelli by Our Lady of Pompeii
at Naples in 1884. For thirteen months Fortuna Agrelli had endured dreadful
sufferings and torturous cramps; she had been given up by the most celebrated
physicians. On February 16, 1884, the afflicted girl and her relatives commenced
a novena of Rosaries. The Queen of the Holy Rosary favoured her with an
apparition on March 3rd. Mary, sitting upon a high throne, surrounded by
luminous figures, held the divine Child on her lap, and in her hand a Rosary.
The Virgin Mother and the holy Infant were clad in gold-embroidered garments.
They were accompanied by St. Dominic and St. Catherine of Siena. The throne was
profusely decorated with flowers; the beauty of Our Lady was marvellous. Blessed
Virgin said: "Child, thou has invoked me by various titles and hast always
obtained favours from me. Now, since thou hast called me by that title so
pleasing to me, 'Queen of the Holy Rosary,' I can no longer refuse the favour
thou dost petition; for this name is most precious and dear to me. Make three
novenas, and thou shalt obtain all."
Once more the Queen of the Holy Rosary appeared to her and said, " Whoever
desires to obtain favours from me should make three novenas of the prayers of
the Rosary, and three novenas in thanksgiving."
The Novena consists of five decades of the Rosary each day for twenty-seven days
in petition; then immediately five decades each day for twenty-seven days in
thanksgiving, whether or not the request has been granted. The meditations vary
from day to day. On the first day meditate on the Joyful Mysteries; on the
second day the Sorrowful Mysteries; on the third day the Glorious Mysteries; on
the fourth day meditate again on the Joyful Mysteries; and so on throughout the
fifty-four days.

This is an old website, add the Luminous if you wish.

If you put "54 day rosary novena" into google.........you can see some great info

For those of you in really unhappy marriages, or feeling desperate.......perhaps
for a conversion of a dh.......this is a VERY efficacious
prayer................the graces just abound!

PLEASE consider joining us if you are feeling low.

We will offer it up for all of those on this list, and others we know, for our
vocations, our husbands and our marriages...............and our offspring!!

Here is info on the happyisthehusband list:

Happy is the husband of a good wife: for the number of his years is double. A virtous woman rejoiceth her husband, and shall fulfil the years of his life in peace. A good wife is a good portion, she shall be given in the portion of them that fear God, to a man for his good deeds. Ecclesiasticus, Chapter 26, 1-3

This email list is for Catholic women of all ages, to have a special place to pray for each other's husbands and marriages. We can also use this forum to discuss our vocations as wives.....supporting each other, asking for advice. Those who have happy marriages, or long marriages, can guide those who are struggling, or who are newly married. We can bring to our group: books, prayers, Bible verses, articles, ideas...to support our vocation. Each month, we will start with a Novena for our husbands, our marriages and our vocations. There may be an occasional book study. Perhaps a once a month topic. Hopefully, once a year we will pray a 54 Day Rosary Novena. Everyone should feel safe here, to ask for any prayer or advice. You may email the list owner privately and an annonymous request or question will be sent to the list on your behalf. Two requests: we always stay focused on the topics mentioned above....and no husband-bashing. All prayer requests are welcome, especially those for our husbands, and ourselves as wives. The motivation for starting this list was, I believe, divinely inspired. God has been pressing on my heart the need that I, and other women have, of courage to fulfill our vocations. All of you on this list will be in my daily prayers.
Our Patrons: The Blessed Virgin Mary, our guide and holy example of a perfect wife; Saint Joseph, her spouse, and the holy example of the perfect husband; Saint Anne, patron saint of wives & mothers, an ideal role model for all mothers & housekeepers; Saint Monica, for her perseverance in prayer & Blessed Anna Maria Taigi and Elisabeth Leseur.

This list is really special, praying with and for others. It is such a blessing. On the list we send out a daily reminder for the Rosary novena if I can make it work this time!)

I hope you will join us!

Here is thethread from last Jan.......it is sweet.

Blessings,

Here is what I sent to the happyisthehusband list tonight:

For those of you who have been here awhile, you probably remember that when we started the list, we quickly started a 54-Day Rosary Novena. It was Aug or Sept. Since then, we have always done one about this time of year.

We have also done the winter Rosary novena as well.

Starting this year, I would like to keep the same Rosary Novena schedule from now on.

We will plan to have the Winter Rosary always end the day before Saint Joseph's feast day (March 19th.....start on Jan 24th)............and starting this year, we will always have the Summer Rosary Novena end the day before the Feast of the Most Holy Rosary (October 7th.........start on August 14th, I think :))

I meant to let you know sooner, as we had decided this way back in the Spring.........but, I got distracted by our Star-Spangled Adventure

So, I am only giving you a few days notice.........I am SO sorry.

It will start this coming week..........Robynn, can you please let us know the EXACT day??

Robynn will be setting up our daily email reminders again (THANK YOU SO MUCH, R!).......and then they will always be ready, set for the same dates every year.

Please send your intentions to the list...........or send them to me, and I can send them privately. Or, just ask for "special intentions"..............and if you cannot join us.......please send your intentions, or know they will be prayed for. God knows what is on your heart.

Any questions????

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I can make an announcement here, on the boards whenever we start one, if that would be helpful to anyone. I love making our Rosary boquest to Mary as big as we can get it
Goodnight,
I didn't know that this is what it was called, but this novena is what converted my husband. I stopped talking about it, and started a rosary novena, from a blue book, with some friends. (I didn't know *what* I was doing, either, lol).
It worked, and he was happily hobbling around on Saturday with me at the conference. Our Lady at work.:-)
Of course you know it works, but I thought I would share that it had worked personally, and dramatically for me also.
In Christ,
Leocea
Leocea,
That is so ironic - as I just started this novena TODAY in the hopes that my DH might convert. Too weird that I just joined this forum and it's one of the first posts I see! ;-)
Did you do anything else in terms of gently leading him or just pray? I am at a loss here, hence the novena.
Thanks,
Deborah
We're praying this with all of you, Chari. For the conversion of a loved one, and for healing for my dh. Thank you!
Oh my goodness. Is the Novena over? I'm still going but that's not a bad thing of course. I mentioned all of your husbands every day!! Have any great grace reports?
I did this Novena. It was really wonderful. First, it was the longest stretch of consecutive daily Rosaries ever for me. I used to pray it MOST days, but always at dh's initiative. So that was sort of an unintended grace for me. I prayed each day for "my husband, our marriage, and my understanding of my vocation." I don't think I can go into any specific details but I think my prayers have definitely been answered--are still being answered.
God Bless,
Susan
We do!!!! The starting of this novena coincided with our first 19-20 week sonogram, which found some high risk issues and other things with the baby. Our 28 week sonogram was today to follow-up and almost every issue is resolved. Deo Gratias. We're starting a new 54 day novena for the birth of the baby.
Ironically, I started one 10 days ago for an intention of one of my children. So I guess I'm in, though ahead.
I'm glad I saw this today. I'm going to give it a go, but like some of the other well-intenitoned wives, I find it so difficult stick with it. Maybe we could try to post here and let each other know how we are doing...
