Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi Ladies,
Last year we did Prima Latina and LOVED it. I ordered LC 1 for this coming year and just decided to open it today. OH BOY! This is really different!

This is much more involved! I'll be using it with the DVDs and my children's ages are 11, 9, and 9. I am not planning on doing the Famous Men of Rome part. And I did read the Teacher's Manual. But it all still seems confusing.

Can someone please lay out what a typical week looks like for you using LC? What do you do daily/weekly? Do you do a lesson a week?

Thanks for any and every help!

We worked through about half of LCI last year for my dd (now 11) after having completed Prima the year before, and she did very well with it. We also excluded the Famous Men of Rome portion and as far as teacher prep I basically went through each lesson with her at the beginning of the week, then she would complete the 2nd page on the next day with minimal help from me, and then I had her use the CD for practice the remainder of the week. We did very few tests, and no quizzes (not our style) and we'll start back up with the remainder of the book pretty soon! Ours was fairly relaxed, but just enough to solidify it for her. She knows more Latin than the rest of us, that's for sure

Blessings!

Here is what I did with LC1 (I skipped the FMOR too).
MONDAY: introduce the new vocab
TUESDAY: Exercise A
WEDNESDAY: Exercise B
THURSDAY: Exercise C
FRIDAY: Derivatives/Exercise D

Daily we did:
-call cards (LC 2 has a better way of handling these... they do little time trials so you can 'beat your record')
-Latin Prayer
-Latin Song

The entired lesson each day took about 20-30 minutes
