Hi!

I was wondering who else on the boards is a scrapbooker........so when I see your name, I can think of you in that light

also, I was wondering if any one here uses Creative Memories supplies, and about how often?

For my scrapbooking, I mostly use CM supplies, about 99.5% of the time.

What are you working on right now? How many albums do you have completed?

Do you do chronological, or themed, or both?

How often do you scrap? How do you fit it in? Do your kids scrap, too?

It might be fun to share our favorite pages.

Just sharing......

I don't know if I coun't, because I've switched completely from paper scrapbooking to digital. I was way to perfectionistic to continue with paper - I never liked how anything came out!

I really haven't done much, but when I get time, I do enjoy it. I've mostly done chronological, but can also use the software for other things, so have made greeting cards, posters, "home companion binder" pages, etc.

Well thanks to the ladies on this forum I am officallt scrapbooking.

Right now the girls and I are working on their own Sacraments scrapbook. Basically I found some deep discounted wedding scrapbooks (1.99) so we are tweaking them to our likings. We started the first page with their baptism, now we are going through their FC pictures, then to follow with their recent Confirmation.
I am not in the postion currently to buy alot of CM materials, but we are still finding other products on sale at various stores.
As you said Chari it is quite addictive we LOVE it.

I was a huge scrapbooker until ?? I just know I haven't done much in the past year. I wonder if it has anything to do with blogging? Right now I'm working on Rachel's baby album. I use Creative Memories products 98% (rough guess) of the time now. I used all kinds of products for my second son's baby album and I found it too be too busy looking for me.

There is so much out there now, it could be really overwhelming for me to use more than one brand.

I have completed 6 albums and have 16 albums in process. Most of them have the pictures mounted in them, but they need to be journaled. I have over 573 pages to journal now.

These are the albums I have: Baby (4), Christmas (2), Vacation (3), Building the House (1), Family (10), a second album for my ds 8 and one more?

My oldest has scrapped a bit. I used to go to workshops, then I started doing scrap nites once a month at my dh's office. We'd do a Saturday from 3-12. I'm finding it harder for me to do that nowadays. I'm not sure how I want to scrapbook in the future because of blogging. They're so similar. I do want to finish the albums I've started though. How about you?

I'm a scrapbooker! Love CM. I use mostly CM, mainly because I trust them and I don't have the time to do all the researching myself. Also, I love that my CM consultant delivers. I used to scrap late at night when I had a premie. I would stay up until 3 with him and then dh would take the 3-6 shift. I would call my consultant several times a week and she would drop by my order within hours.

I used to scrap way more than I do now. The last few years I've done the scrapbooking at the beach retreat my consultant offers once a year. It is a 4 day weekend and at least on entire album done, sometimes more. Then I put it away for another year. Last year I started scrapbooking more school WITH my kids. That was fun! We will probably do that again.

I used to scrapbook a lot. I haven't really done anything in about 6 years! I'm obviously very far behind.

I do scrapbook chronologically. I was doing separate albums for our boys but decided to just do one family album. They can copy them in the future if they want to. I've done nothing for Hannah's album!

I think I stopped because I didn't have anyone to scrapbook with and I don't find it any fun alone. I hope to get back to it in the future though.

Any ideas from anyone on how to wrap my brain around doing it alone, at home, and enjoying it?

Scrapbooking always scared me - what if I messed up? I have to second Amy on the digital scrapbooking - I LOVE it! Fulfills my need for creativity and allays my fear of messing up all at the same time.

For regular scrapbooking supplies (albums/embellishments/paper, etc.) I use myself! Or rather my Stampin' Up! supplies. I did make a had copy mini scrapbook of my 1st two ds's first year together as brothers.

So far I've been going by theme or chronological. Fun topic - thanks!

I started scrapbooking last August. I had about 3 years of photos (4 kids) to catch up on. Before that, the photos were just placed in slots in albums. Cheryl posted on her blog about her Scrapbooking process, which really helped me.

In August, I "set up shop" in my neighbors basement and tried to work on it whenever I could.

It took me about 9 months to get my "system" down, and now it doesn't seem so overwhelming. In 9 months, I did about 110 pages.   I moved “scrapbooking central” last March from her basement to a black suitcase (forgot the name of it) and now I’m portable, since I don’t have an “area” to be permanently set up in.

I got most of my supplies from Joann. I’ve never been to a SB party/show.

I try to print photos out about every 3 months, put them in the appropriate child’s box, and then right before their birthday, I do a couple pages of THEIR YEAR.

Otherwise, I try to print pics out within the month if it’ a special event, etc…..that I'll do for the family album. I actually already did 5 pages of our vacation that we got back from on July 8!

I mostly scrap while dh and I watch a movie in the evening. I can usually get 3-6 pages done during a movie. After every movie, he asks, “Well, how many pages?” And, I report!

My girlfriend just started too, so she has a few people over to her house once / month. I go if dh is in town.

I have done nothing for my 16 month old’s album, so that’s my next big project….get her first year done. That’s a biggie.

I wouldn’t say I “love” to scrapbook. I’m not all that artistic or professional in the pages I do. It’s all pretty simple.   And, there are lots of other things I’d rather be doing. But, I think it’s important and we LOVE to look at the pages. The reward is great….

I love to scrapbook! I used to sell CM but spent all the money on more stuff for me

I am behind because I am finding so little time to work on my albums. I am so busy with school work and sports that I do not actually make enough time for me to work on this.

I try to have a family album and then one for each kid plus i have an album for me and hubby, a Disney album, a baseball album, a hockey album etc. of course I am behind but i love CM and all their stuff. they have such neat ideas too.

I forgot about this one! I did a 8x8 album last year for dh's birthday. One page for each year of our marriage. With one or two pictures of just the two of us. There was one year that is missing. That must've been the year I had 3 children all under the age of 2.5!

Hopefully this will prompt me to get a good pic of just the 2 of us every year .

Well, after I read this, I had to find out what exactly I wrote. Here is my post. I guess I forgot to write the next installment.

Well, last time I "scrapped" was when I was in early labor with dd 4 1/2 years ago. I worked on ds's "baby" book. I am only up to 7 months and he is now 9 1/2!!    Oh, and the pages turned out pretty well.....
DD's book has the cover done.
Each year I (used to) do a family book with travels, photos about things we do together. Those are far from finished. The baby books are specific to each child-soccer, gymnastics, news articles, etc. about that child. They can take them(maybe)when they leave the house, kind of my gift to them.
I also do books of Christmas cards and letters we receive. These are up to date and we LOVE them. I start each year with our letter and photo that we send out. The following pages are the cards, photos, letters we receive for that year. It is a nice resource for looking up birthdays, wedding anniversary's, etc. Fun to see how the children grow too-especially for those we don't see anymore.
I do an occasional special book, like the one we did for Fathers Day for my dh. So, I guess I did do some this year.
I use supplies from Michaels. It is just easier for me and I love to use the coupons.
I am by no means the best scrapper. My pages are very simple. I was overwhelmed when I started years ago(and didn't start) and just realized I needed to just start, get the photos in a book and let the photos speak rather than all the other stuff.
I am hoping to get to it more this fall/winter. A friend and I are even considering one might a month meeting at the library for a few hours.I cannot get to it at home with my kids after me all day. It is so important to preserve our memories. I would be interested in learning about digital pages since I got a digital camera this year and love it. Also, I have an entire closet of photo boxes, negatives and albums from many years ago. If I do a book each year where am I going to put them all?? What am I going to do with all the stuff I stuffed in that closet? Ideas?

Organize it! I love to scrapbook but don't get much time to do it, so organization ahead of time makes my days of scrapping a whole lot more fun. I actually get to do something and not spend forever trying to find this or that photo or item!

Here's how I do it: Usually I spend 2 weeks after Christmas and Easter playing catch-up. In between I get the photos printed that I want to include in each book and seperate them into 1 stack per book, in chronological order, where they stay, ready and waiting until I'm ready. The prep work usually takes away some of the stress of getting everything in order on the very days when I'm actually sitting down and trying to make pages.

With the extras...Each of my children has a photo box for extra photos and such (I still print off lots of doubles, even with a digital camera because it seems like we're always reaching into those photo boxes for photos of the kids for our crafts and homemade cards and stuff.) So each child has their own box, with photos in chronological order, separated into years by dividers.

I have 5 kids and each one has their own scrapbook up until they start kindergarten. From that point on I just pop their photos onto scrapbooking paper, journal a little bit, and slip them into page protectors within their yearly binders (which hold everything we've done together for school each year). This has totally relieved my stress about fitting it all in. I figure the kids still get the photos, pretty paper, and Mom's words about what's going on, but it's not as labor-intensive as it was before. And the best part is that I don't have to keep up with a scrapbook and a yearly binder. I just do one that encompasses it all. So if we take a trip to the pumpkin patch and make a pumpkin mini-book or write a journal entry about our field trip, the photos are right there beside the work... one-stop shopping is my idea of wonderful .
