I am soooooo grateful, we have been given a Sunflower sailboat. God is so good, I cannot wait to take it out. Now I can be like Bob Wiley tied to the mast yelling "I sail, I sail"......What about Bob anyone!

Ahoy, and congratulations, Chicken Lady! Your post brought back warm memories. We had a Sunflower when I was a child, then my parents sold it when they bought a larger sailboat, then I bought a Sunflower again when I was a teen (with a little help from Mom and Dad). Unfortunately, a tree fell on it, breaking it in half (don't store your boat under a tree ). But we had many happy times and learned a lot about sailing. I'm sure your family will have many happy hours sailing together, too.

What a beautiful vessel and a wonderful gift! Have you christened the boat yet? We had so much fun with our naming ceremony! Share yours when you have it! Name and ceremony, I mean. Have you decided on a name yet?

Jennifer what a fun reminder. THe dc will be soooo excited.
Growing up in Ca. I remember going out to the Blessing of the Fleets, perhaps we can have our canoe and boat blessed. I am smiling as I write this, remembering all the grand vessels being blessed. And there we are with our tiny "fleet". If I can keep from laughing I will ask the kiddos if they want to do this. Thanks again!
