We went to the pool with some friends and got there as it was opening. While putting our things on the grassy area, we saw a skunk. Well it came closer and closer to the pool until it came in the fence! You never saw moms run so fast into a pool with children in hand before. Next thing you know, about 4 men came around and then the tail went up! Luckily it didn't spray and the men were able to sort of follow it away. I'm hoping animal control got it, but we didn't see what happened. Since we are in Tennessee I couldn't figure out why they didn't just shoot it. Clearly there was something wrong with it. Anyway, just wanted to warn everyone who takes their kids to public pools.

How scary! Rabies is the first thing that comes to mind, although something like distemper could also be possible. Glad you are safe!
