Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am excited at the bringing back of the tridentine mass. However, I know nothing of it. I am looking for suggestions on the best way to teach myself and my children this beautiful mass. Any suggestions?

Barb, It is exciting, isn't it??? The very first mass I ever attended (before my conversion) was a TLM. And while I was perplexed and confused, I was also in awe! The way we have learned here is by attending whenever we can, we have a few of the missles used at our parish, my sons serve and share alot of what they learn, and our choir director put together a CD for anyone interested of the mass and all of the responses, including the servers responses. The biggest way we have learned though is by attending whenever we can. I look forward to hearing what others suggest!

This book A Child's Missal by Patmos is absolutely beautiful, and based on this mass.

I would buy a 1962 missal and a current missal and look at them side-by-side. It would be good to have a missal that has the Latin parts of the Mass for the Novus Ordo, so you can see the changes.

Jenn, our missal is set up with latin on one page and the english translation on the other, with postures etc... in the side bars. It's really cool and helpful! Thanks for the tip on that book!
