Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Yesterday we had the third child in 4 months in the ER to get stitched up! Gabe in March, Mary in April, and now Abby in July! She was goofing off on the bottom bunk and hit her head on a bracket on the top bunk. A friend of mine was visiting at the time with her 9 children, so she stayed while I took her to the ER. 4 stitches to her noggin'! (we also had Isaac in the ER late the other night, long story, but he's fine, just had some nasty constipation!)

I was kind of thrown for a loop by my parents reaction to the news of Ab's stitches. "Well, what do you expect, the more you have the more will get hurt, and it will just get worse as they get older."

Ah well, she's fine and that's the important thing. I getting all too familiar with the St. Anne's ER!

My sympathies. My parents think things like that but don't say it. It is bad enough having to endure it without someone being so negative.

We've run a child to the ER and it was constipation too! LOL I thought he might have appendicitis.

Lisa I can REALLY relate!

Our run started with my 4yearold puncturing his head on a swing that hit him in the head with a bolt exposed...We were that close to getting it stitched as it was a triangular wound, but if I pushed it together it made a neat line, so my mum (a registered nurse) steri-stripped it and it has healed beautifully (thank goodness!)

Then my 2yearold fractured his arm.

Then my 12yearold sprained his right wrist.

All in a 2-3 week period.
