I am still "honeymooning" right now (  ), until my mom brings the kids home on Tuesday.
The ceremony was beautiful and simple, the way we wanted. We then had an outdoor reception at my house, sorry -- our house!
We had sliced beef (marinated in gravy and italian dressing - yummy), venison tortilla wraps, beaver stew, BBQ meatballs, and duck gumbo (cajun-style). Several of Eric's relatives came in from the Kaplan/Gueydan area of Louisiana to help cook, so the food was SPICY!
I want to thank all of you for all of your prayers that day - I felt them!
I'm also asking for more prayers. (I'm needy lately!)
First, a very close family friend (and wedding photographer) was in a car accident on the way to the wedding, and is still in the hospital. He should be going home in the next day or two, they are mainly keeping him for observation.
Secondly, during the reception at our home someone stole the money we were given for gifts. Now, we didn't want gifts, but everyone ignored our request! Our BIL is a police officer up here, and it has turned into an active investigation. The dollar amount is such that it is a felony, and they took fingerprint evidence with them. Eric and I are heartbroken that a close family member or friend is in such a bad way that they needed to steal. They really need our prayers right now.
Again, thank you to all of you who helped make our day so special with all your prayers. I have printed out all the different threads and am placing them in our wedding album (which I still have to buy!)
I'll post pictures once we start getting them from everyone. Now, back to the honeymoon!

When your original post came through to me by email, the bottom part -- about the accident and the theft -- was clipped off! So I just now learned this troubling news. I am so sorry!
Your photographer friend is in my prayers for a speedy and full recovery. I pray also for the thief and for the recovery of the money. (Two strangers crashed my husband's 40th birthday party and started loading up on free food. I thought THAT was a big deal! Theft from the wedding gift table... yikes!)
Have a wonderful honeymoon, despite all the chaos surrounding your wedding. It can only get better from here!
