Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi everyone, and thank you for all of your prayers last week for my Dad, who had not been to a dr. in years, and is now very sick. He was admitted to the hospital on Friday for testing and observation. They have diagnosed him with colon cancer, and he was suffering from an extremely enlarged prostate, as well. Tomorrow we will find out what stage/type the cancer is, and Friday we get the treatment plan.

Please pray for my family - this happened quickly and everyone is still in shock. My poor Dad, he just looks so scared and sad to me, it breaks my heart.

Thanks, ladies,

I know how that shock feels and am sorry that you are all having to go through it. Your dad and all of you are in my prayers, Kerry.

Oh gosh, Kerry, I can remember with my own dad when he was dying of congestive heart failure; it was about 3 years after my first husband died of cancer. My dad was so worried that it would upset ME that he was dying!

I'm praying for your dad and your whole family -- this is always SO HARD!

This is very hard. Our Dads and all men in our lives always have such a "Tough" front. When they fall ill, it is so frightening. I am praying for a quick and full recovery. (((hugs)))

Oh Kerry - I know the shock and confusion that comes with a diagnosis like this. Things move faster than you're able to process! Praying for peace for your entire family and wisdom to make the right decisions. Keep your eyes and heart focused on Our Merciful Lord! He will see your family through this!

Kerry, I know the feeling of this diagnosis as well--my grandpa got through prostate cancer a couple years ago and my grandma is enduring chemo right now for ovarian cancer. Praise God he was able to get to a doctor. Many prayers for you, your family, and especially your dad!
