I am curious if anyone has ever purchased a sound screen to produce white noise. I am having so much trouble sleeping with all the noise and activity in my house...I am quite desperate .

We have two in our house - one in our room which is where the baby sleeps, and one for the next youngest two (4 and 7). I *love* it. I am a horribly light sleeper - every little noise wakes me up, and I think these really help. I know other families that use a fan, but dh hates the air blowing around.

We don't use Sleep Sound, but we're big white noise people here. We use Homedics sound machine in ds' room, and fans in our room...but we also have the intercom so we benefit from ds' sound machine, too.
It's a sad commentary on our need for noise...when the power goes out and it's completely quiet, we all wake up.

We don't use Sleep Sound either, but we are definitely white-noise people, especially when it comes to the children. We have an old TV-radio set to "static" that we play in the babies' room. It is a lifesaver, as that constant white noise keeps them from waking each other up at night. My daughter naps in our bedroom since she and my son have different nap schedules, so we dowloaded a minute-long sample of vacuum noise and then just loop it on our computer's media player...we do white noise on the cheap around here!

We have 2 sound machines in our home. My DS has the Sound Sleeper which is not very loud, but perfect for my DS. My DD has the same as Jenn, which I couldn't find on Amazon. We don't put it on white noise, we actually use the ocean waves, which is soo soothing.
Good luck!

I have used that same model for years. I first bought it for our first baby, when we lived on a very busy, noisy street. Now I can't sleep without it! It is very durable. They last for years with daily use, and they are small and light for traveling.
