Please pray for my ds (4yrs) who will be having a colonoscopy on June 18 (Monday) as a follow-up to having a rectal skin tag removed last fall.
He will only be able to have clear liquids, jello and popsicles all day Sunday, plus he has to have two enemas at home in order to prepare.
I cannot tell you how much I am dreading this whole thing.
He has developed a doctor phobia, and even the mention of medicine or going to the doctor makes him cry and become distraught. For that reason we have been putting off this follow-up procedure for a year. But now the time has come, and I will be relieved to know if he has any other tags or polyps internally. That has been a worry hanging over my head for a year.
Still, the whole preparation will be tough on him. I will be "fasting" on Sunday along with him to encourage him. It is going to be a very long day, followed by the procedure on Monday morning. I will be so thankful when it is all behind us.

Poor thing. It is so hard for little ones (and their moms!) to have to go through things like this. He and you are in our prayers.

Well, we made it through three days of prep for ds's colonoscopy tomorrow. It all went better than I'd hoped. He had no food today- only clear liquids. But he was as happy as a clam eating popsicles all day along with jello, sprite and apple juice. He was in good spirits, even with frequent bathroom trips. God is good.
He didn't even mind getting the first enema, but afterward he was pretty unhappy- the bowel cramps after were painful. Still, he was a good sport. But we still have one more enema to do tomorrow AM, and I know he's going to be really upset to do that again. Then we have to get through the procedure itself. Please continue to pray for us. He is doing much better than I am.

We are home and made it through- somewhat rough today with everything, but we got a good report and hopefully this is the end.
Two major weights have been lifted from shoulders in the past three days.
Thank you all for your prayers.
