Well, you know reading to your almost six year old who has three big brothers, (and kisses the ground they walk on), is a whole different experience than reading out loud to number one or two son when they were younger.....

I was reading "Goodnight Moon" to ds, I love that book, and so have all the kiddos, and I wanted to work on his speech articulation as well, with him repeating some of it. When we got to the page about "the cow jumping over the moon", he stopped me.
"Mama, stop...wait a minute, that's weak....cow jumping over the moon? That's weak!!" he says in an indignant tone.

Sigh.....never have I been stopped during beloved "Goodnight Moon" and told a page was "weeeeak" Almost six year old going on 15.....

My dd thought Goodnight Moon was a terribily silly book! Once was enough for her.
