Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi All,
This coming school year I am thrilled that I will be teaching a nature studies class for a group of homeschoolers 3-7 grade, with perhaps my 2nd grader tagging along. We will meet one day a week and I will give them assignments for the rest of the week.

Have any of you done this? I was thinking that our one day might be spent in observation, in the field, with group discussion and sharing afterward, and then their assignments could be follow-up, with perhaps more observations. I want to print out pertinent passages from various nature study books that go along with the season and what we are observing and then give space for their response and a comparison to what they actually saw. Does a book like that already exist? I don't want to reinvent the wheel if someone has already done the work (there are so many other things I could be working on). :)
Thanks
Margot
