Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Has anyone used these on a newborn and been happy? I am very fussy about the initial bath/cream/diaper products used - all my other kids have not been able to tolerate J&J products. My other option is California Baby - I think this is even more pricey than Mustela.

Thanks!

I personally don't like the scent of Mustela products. It's not a strong scent -- just one that I don't care for -- so I would either try sample sizes or be sure to smell it before purchase.

I like Burt's Bees Baby products - they have a baby shampoo bar that I use.

DITTO! Felt the same about the scent - also the cremes just seemed really "heavy" to me. I also prefer Burt's Bees Baby stuff.

Marilayn,

I tried to post this last night, but we had connection problems, and I guess it didn't go through.

I used Mustela with my youngest, and I was very satisfied. My next-to-youngest had *horrible* cradle cap. I saw that Mustela had a product that helped with that - a shampoo IIRC -- and I decided to use it. After I had finished the first bottle, I used a "regular" baby shampoo, and I started to see some cradle cap. I switched back to Mustela, and the problem was solved.

As for the scent, it's interesting that other people disliked it. I am scent-senstive and dislike many scents. I did not mind Mustela's scent.

In Christ,
Deborah

Thanks for all the opinions. I am very sensitive to smell and scent too - I will try and take a sniff of both products - as soon as I reach 36 weeks and am allowed to go out to the store

For those of you who use Burts Bees - Amazon has a sale and free shipping on pantry packs - I cannot buy unfortunately as I need to do a trial first.

I have to say I absolutely love California Baby stuff. I've never used Mustula. Another thing to look for is Wedela products. They have calendula in them which is great with sensitive skin. I used the soap and cream with my dd and ds2 when their ezcema flaires up.

If by chance you have a bussines or know someone who does, you should try to create a co-op through
Frontier Wholesale
to give you an idea burts bee shampoo at 8 oz is $3.70 only in the wholesale site so you need to have a company sign up. I do this through our moms group and love doing it. Also you could check out Azure Standard. You can find other natural non-lurel-sulfates (sp?) body cleaners as well. BTW California baby is now at Target. I love their stuff!
