It's that time of year, and the founding pastor of the eight-year-old parish we attend is being transferred. In addition to all he has done to help build up the parish, there is no way I can describe here how much impact he has had on our life over the past five years. Please pray for him, and for the new pastor and parochial vicar who will arrive at the end of the month, as he has asked.

Well, I broke into tears when I finally talked to our beloved pastor this evening. We are all heartbroken over losing him. He is such a gem.

Please pray for the children of the parish, who feel such a loss, and for the people who have either converted to Catholicism, returned to the Faith, or had a deeper conversion through this priest. I know some who are feeling very bereft right now.

Ladies, when I saw the assignments I said a little prayer for all of you as I can only imagine how hard it would be for your wonderful parish. One of the priests coming to you from my parish (as parochial vicar) is a wonderful man, from a large family and with a very tender heart. I will miss him, but I know he will bring wonderful things to your parish. I will keep praying.
