Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My kids asked to help make some of the atrium materials i have been working on. I said yes and of course while making them we started dicussing what they were for -sort of an off the cuff presentaion.

Now i know this would have been a big no-no in our parsih atrium but it felt really right at home.

The kids are excited about using the materials on thurs.
They have done this presettaion at the parish but they seem to be really owning it now...does that make sense?

so i was wondering if you let kids prepare presentaion materials and what your experinces have been

I would definately let them help with the materials especially if it is helpful to you and not frustrating in the process

My dc love to help make the items that are going to be part of their learning, it's a true Real Learning experience IMHO!! In my 3-6 Album, Moira implies that the children really "own" the work after they experience the presentation on different levels, and to me creating the beautiful material is an integral part of this formation.

Blessings!

Yes! When I am feeling patient that is
I seem to remember that Moira Farrell at first thought it would be better to make the materials out of sight of the children, but after letting her kids help decided that was a more natural approach. I'm sorry I have no idea where i remember reading that so don't quote me! But that has been my experience as well, I know I learn alot from making the materials so why wouldn't the kids?

Maggie! That is beautiful!!!Where did you get the pics for the Mary and Eliz. figures? They look familiar. Is it Tomie DePaola? What a clever way of doing them!

Theresa

Gertude Mueller Nelson is the artist she has a book or cd you can buy just for copying images.

I get it from the library

it is called

"clip art for feasts and seasons" there are 2 one is like the one one my blog the other is wood cut type ones.

I really like them and have used them for everything from Xmas banners to atrium figures.
