This seems like such a silly request ... but my computer just caught on fire--the one that I have all of my schooling data stored on. The screen went blank, there was a loud POP and then smoke poured out. I turned it off, it fightened me so. Now my husband has to figure out the problem.
Meanwhile, I am using the children's computer. It does not have all my passwords, files, favorite blogs. I had to log into the forum (I can never remember my username). Please pray that he will be able to recover my hard drive--I have so much stored on there for next year. Thanks ladies.
Update: I should have more confidence in my dh. He did an excellent job. It was the power supply. But unfortunately, it cooked the video card, the processor, etc. However, my hard drive was saved! I am so thankful. So now my hard drive is wired into the children's computer. We will just have to do some great lessons in sharing--mom included!
Thank you ladies for all of your prayers. I believe that it certainly helped the situation!

Carole ~
That's not silly! Fire and smoke qualify as serious - and when your computer is the victim that is NO laughing matter.
I hope it all works out.
Blessings ~

Oh boy... That really makes you go numb with shock. NOT a silly request at all. My hubby thinks it sounds like a power supply problem, and thinks it is possible to save the hard drive - depends on how much smoke you saw .
Praying it will be saved!

Not silly. We just went through this. It took two months, and a $120 data recovery program, but we saved a lot of our data.
Praying for you!
