Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

This afternoon, I noticed two small lumps visible on the side of my two-year-old son's neck. I felt them, and they are very hard and moveable, but they feel like they are attached to something underneath, maybe a muscle?

My rational mind is telling me this is probably nothing, just harmless cysts that will disappear on their own. But it's a holiday weekend and of course I can't reach the doctor, so in the meantime it's hard not to worry about worst-case scenarios.

Please, please pray that these bumps are nothing serious at all, and that my son remains healthy. I love him so much and I just want him to be okay. Pray that we can get a doctor's appointment first thing Tuesday morning and that we will be reassured that there is nothing wrong.

Thank you ....

Praying for your little guy.

Could it just be swollen glands? My kids get some huge ones when they are run down.

I think I know what they are...I don't know the exact name, but they are pea sized and I was told they are viral and nothing to worry about...You might want to get it looked at anyway, though. Sorry I can't be of more help!

I'm praying, I know how I'd be worrying due to my panicky nature when it comes to the children....

Yes, sort of pea sized .... doesn't seem like swollen glands, but I'm not a doctor. They are VERY hard. Like little hard ball bearings just under the skin.

Thank you for your prayers, ladies .... and praying against the imagination is a good idea, I think, mine tends to run wild sometimes.

Praying here.

My 8yo had the same thing at that age ... I can't even remember now what caused it (glands or viral?), but the doctor said it was very common.

Prayers here!! All that stuff is so worrisome.

And FWIW -- (as a kid I had pea sized glands in my neck and one behind my ear that "calcified" - still have them today with no apparent side affects).

I'm praying for your little guy. I took one of mine in for the same reason, and the dr. said she was just fighting somethiing and it should go away in time. I always worry about that.

Oh how we mothers battle with worry! I'm praying for the very best case scenario and peace very soon.

Love,

Prayers here...but I do want to offer a little hope. My son (6yo) has had a pea size lump on his neck most of his life. It stays in the same place, but moves around when touched. I asked the doc about it some time ago. He said it was common, nothing to worry about since the little lump moves around and isn't completely fixed. I'd still go to the doctor for peace of mind, but I really think it's either a swollen gland, or this other thing.
