Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My dd's candle and hair from her clothing day!

Mother gave me the candle that my dd used during the clothing ceremony plus some of the hair that was cut off (a good size chunk, about 12" long). I thought about looking at the hobby store for a shadow box to put them in, but I wasn't sure if there was anything I should do with the hair, does it need to be sprayed with something?

Thanks for the help and God bless,
Jackie

Hi Jackie!

First of all CONGRATULATIONS!!

What about keeping a lock of the hair and donating the rest to locks of love? Just a thought!

God love you!

I have a friend whose daughter has been a Carmelite nun for 8 yrs. I could ask her. BTW, I loved the pics of the clothing ceremony. I've been keeping you and the family in my prayers.

I think the shadow box idea is great, I have one of my ds. As for the hair my mom just put a sample in our baby boxes, I still have mine (40 yrs) as good as new in a piece of wax paper.

Oh my goodness. I'm sitting here bawling. Congratulations and please tell Sister Grace that we are praying specially for her!

There are companies that will take a lock of hair and braid it, then enclose it in a glass pin or pendant. I'll have a look later and see if I can find some examples...
