Please pray for my daughter, Stevie, and her very soon-to-be husband, John. They are getting married this Saturday.
Many of you knew that she is getting married, but only a few know that Stevie is also expecting in July. She and John have been dating for a couple of years and had planned to marry next year. Because of the baby they have moved the date to this spring.
When they found out that she was pregnant, they came to Keven and I within 24 hours. I find great consolation in that. I am so grateful that she felt safe enough in our relationship to be able to tell us so quickly.
Please pray for me as well. On Saturday morning it all hit me….hard. I had been so busy with First Communion, Confirmation, and nightly Little League games that I have not spent much time thinking about how life will change when Stevie is gone.
She has been such a joy and delight in my life and I will miss her terribly. Even though she’ll only be living ten miles away it seems like ten million to me right now.
Stevie has a beautiful heart and has always been the one to fill in for me when I was not able. She has spent many nights saying bedtime prayers with and singing to her younger siblings. While she was still homeschooling, she was always helping someone with any difficulties they were having. Never did anyone ever have to ask her to lend a hand. She has always pitched in…above and beyond what was expected. Her smile has brightened our every day.
Oh, how I will miss her. Yet, I am so happy for her new life. John is a wonderful young man and loves Stevie very much. They both have a very strong Faith and want to live their lives following the teachings of the Church. I know the Lord will bless them.

I was JUST wondering when the wedding is this morning. They'll be in my prayers. She will be a fabulous wife and mother because of your example. Although they got in the wrong order, I'm sure this is the beginning of a wonderful new family.

Oh, Donna, your words have me missing Stevie, too
I promise to pray for them, and will add Stevie to my daily Memorare for expectant moms.
My niece ended up doing it in the wrong order, too, at age 15 (ack!)...........and is now the very young mother of four and the best mom and wife........she is the example of what "I" want to be when I grow up
Can't wait to see her on my trip!
Wedding blessings, Grandma!
oh, and thanks for bringing this to our attention so we could have the privilage of praying for you.

Donna -
You are so blessed in your beautiful daughter. Daughters' weddings (especially the first one getting married) are bittersweet. You are now where I was last year, so I really do understand. Praying for your daughter and new son-in-law and for you as you get through the wedding and the adjustments in your life.
Peace,
Nancy

Oh, Donna ! Your post brings bittersweet tears to my eyes...you are such a shining example of the fullness of motherhood to me. May God continue to bless you and all who love you.
My mother was pregnant with me when she and my dad married, both aged 19. This past Sunday they celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary . May the wedding reflect the beautiful love of the bride and groom and their families.
On Saturday, I will especially pray and think of you. Since you are having the wedding in PA, I'm thinking...Chicken Dance. Yep, I'm thinking that I just might have to gather the children together on Saturday and do the Chicken Dance in honor of Stevie and John...where IS our happy dance emoticon?
Lots of love,
