Please pray for a good outcome for our friend Miko's MRI today. Miko has lived with cancer for 9+ years and has undergone 2 cancer treatment series that put his cancer in remission. A couple of weeks ago he fell and hurt his hip, and he's been experiencing pain in that hip ever since. Today he's having an MRI done to see what's going on. Please join his mom and dad and us in praying that it is nothing serious. He cannot have any more chemotherapy because his last dose was massive and any more will kill off organs. Miko is 20 and just finished his first year in college. Thank you.
(I'm using dh's laptop right now before he leaves for work, as our 2 pcs are out being repaired, so please know that we are thankful for any responses and prayers; might not be able to get back on here 'til much later this evening.)

Thank you all, and thank you Lord! Miko's MRI showed no relation at all to the tumor/cancer, so that's GREAT NEWS!!! And such a relief to his mom, dad and brother. The bad news is that his bones/joints have been compromised quite a bit with the chemo/steroid treatments through the years, so he's experiencing a lot of pain and probably will be for a bit. He might be getting therapy and might need a lifestyle change (diet, etc.) -- will find out more tomorrow as he has another appointment with the docs. Please continue to pray that his doctors are able to come up with the best treatment plan possible. Thank you so much for your prayers.

An update from his parents (sorry, I had misspelled his name before!)--
Quote:
This is just a quick update on Mico. His hipbone joints are deteriorating and could collapse anytime if not reinforced. He's scheduled for surgery on Friday morning (June 1st).
Please pray for a successful process and that meantime, his hip bone ball joint won't crumble from his weight. Mico is in a wheel chair now. He was using a walker right after he was diagnosed last week, but he had to be issued a wheel chair yesterday, after our meeting with the surgeon, to protect the bones.
The good news is that the operation won't immobilize him for a long time. In fact, we saw Mico's classmate come out from the same orthopedic doctor's office. She had the same hipbone condition as Mico; and is also battling cancer. Apparently, the steroids administered to them cut off the blood supply to the joints and when that happens, the bone material inside dies and weakens. She had surgery last Friday, and she was already walking normally when we saw
her.
Thank you once again for your prayers. |
