Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I just put a picture up at my nature blog of a dead snake we found in our front yard, beneath bins that had fallen over after trash pick-up today.

We are not sure what kind it is (garter?) and we are wondering what would have killed it? (I'm hoping it wasn't the trash bins! ) It does appear to have a wound in its middle area.

Any help is appreciated!

On the subject of snakes, my kids just went on a mountain hike and almost stepped on a Black Mamba---a most deadly snake. In fact, two of the big boys stepped OVER it and my dd spotted it as she was about to step ON it. Thank God for those Guardian Angels!

Give me garter snakes any day. If you find one alive, they make great pets.

Oh my gosh. So you are there now. No wonder we haven't heard much from you. You'll have to tell us all about it, Kelly.

Holy Canoli!
So grateful your dc are all ok and so well-watched by their dear angels! Throwing in a prayer for all of you and your safety! Agreeing with Mary; looking forward to hearing about this adventure!
